Thomas Rhett has his four children to thank for being in shape. Rhett reveals it's his daughters who are the reason he and his wife, Lauren Akins, work hard at being in the best shape physically that they can be.

"It's not like I'm old or anything," the 35-year-old says. "But my wife and I definitely took getting in shape really seriously. My wife has always avoided the gym at all costs. And so, her and I decided to start working out together. Honestly, just to be in good shape for my kids has been a really driving motivation, especially as they start to play basketball and play soccer.
"I wanna be able to get in the yard when I'm 65 and be able to kick a soccer ball around ," he adds. "Or throw the football around with my grandkids."

Rhett and Akins were married in 2012. They adopted their oldest daughter, Willa Gray, in 2017, the same year Akins gave birth to their oldest daughter, Ada James. Now happily married, Rhett admits their early years of parenting were a struggle for them.
"We were becoming famous at arguably the hardest moment in our personal lives," Rhett tells Us Weekly. "Adopting [Willa Gray] and getting pregnant at the same time while having to be in Uganda for a year with me traveling back and forth was so challenging. I'd go to Uganda and be husband and dad, and then go to America and be like, 'Okay, shows and music.' I was internally imploding, and so was Lauren. We'd both come to these breaking points [feeling like] something has to give. It was not a fun time in our marriage."
Fortunately, the two worked through the hard time. And now, their marriage is stronger than ever.
"I love the term outkicked my coverage," Rhett says. "I just like to look at it as like, what a blessing, to be honest with you. Like a gift that I did not deserve. Someone that I have literally looked at and been like, 'Golly, you are so beautiful,' since I was like nine, someone as joyful as you and as all the things as you would land with me ... Grateful. Shocking. The fact that I celebrated 12 years of marriage with that person really is just such a gift and such a blessing."
