"Rex is a stickler on rehearsals," McEntire reveals on Late Night with Seth Meyers. "So we'll wake up - every morning we have 'Coffee Camp.' And so, I'll go get the coffee, and he's got a script. I'm like, 'Can't we have coffee first?'"

For Linn, rehearsing comes first, even before the caffeine.

"Gotta get to rehearsing right now!" McEntire mimics him saying.

Fortunately, even the nonstop rehearsing won't drive a wedge between their relationship.

"He's a good guy," McEntire praises. "I like him a lot."

Reba McEntire on 'Happy's Place

It was McEntire who first had the role on Happy's Place, later inviting both Linn and her former Reba co-star, Melissa Peterman, to join her in the cast.

"When we were working on this, they said, 'We're going to have a short-order cook,' and I said, 'That's gotta be Rex,'" McEntire recalls on the Today Show. "We have a blast. I love it. He brings me into work. He drives us to work and then takes us home, and he's my rehearsal coach, so I rehearse a lot."

McEntire is a successful country music artist. Still, the 70-year-old loves being on TV, especially on shows as funny as Happy's Place.

"I love that genre," McEntire reveals, adding that she especially loves sitcoms. "I was a huge fan of them growing up, and then getting to do the Reba show, one season of Malibu Country, and now back with the team, my producers, showrunners, doing this new show, it's just so much fun. I love everything about it."

McEntire will soon return to television in another capacity. She recently announced her return for Season 28 of The Voice. McEntire will be joined for the upcoming season by Snooop Dogg, Michael Bublé and Niall Horan.

"I passed on it years ago, when it first came over from Holland," McEntire tells Meyers. "And I said, 'I can't tell somebody, don't give up your day job.' I'm not gonna do that. But the way we did it, on the first time I was on The Voice, it was more helpful and encouraging. And everybody that's coming back now, Snoop, Michael, myself and Niall, we're nice people. We encourage. We lift up."
