Everybody on the internet has an opinion. Not necessarily good ones, there are far too many people who spew their thoughts without much nuance or intelligence. Frankly, you can tell when people just want to be included after a while. That's the lawlessness of the internet, capable of sharing any and every opinion, regardless of true knowledge of a subject. Recently, the NASCAR legend spoke on the Rubbin' Is Racing podcast. There, he opens up about his career in broadcasting, from his stint with NBC to his new venture with Amazon and Warner Bros. Discovery. When it comes to improving at the craft of commentary, it's been quite the journey for Dale. Obviously, people online have plenty to say about him, but he argues that it comes with the work. Moreover, he seeks out criticism on places like Reddit and Twitter.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. Scavenges Through Reddit Posts for Criticism of His Work
"Whoever is doing the races at the time, that's the people that are going to get the criticism and critique. As soon as NBC would pick up the broadcast, everybody would go, 'Man, I can't wait until FOX is doing this again.' It just kind of comes with the territory," Dale Earnhardt Jr. says.
"I like it because it drives me to be perfect. I know I'm not going to be perfect, but it makes me want to do a really good job. I kind of like (the criticism and) I read the criticism... I would not read the comments on certain apps, but one of the places I do trust criticism is Reddit," Dale adds.
