Music Exec And Rock Drummer Feared Dead In Deadly Plane Crash

A private jet that took off from Teterboro, New Jersey, crashed early on Thursday, devastating a residential neighborhood in San Diego. Six people were reportedly onboard the aircraft, including music agent Dave Shapiro, 42, and Daniel Williams, 39, the former drummer for metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada, per nypost.com. Both apparently lost their lives, which "Shapiro's agency and Williams' former bandmates confirmed," per the outlet.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) observed that conditions were foggy. The plane is believed to have come in contact with a power line. It then crashed, which started a fire in a home. There is an ongoing investigation into the horrific crash. At this time, it is not thought that anyone on the ground was killed or sustained major injuries.

Daniel Williams' Bandmates Miss Him Terribly

Per the outlet via social media, The Devil Wears Prada members voiced their feelings of loss and sadness over Williams' painful and unexpected passing. "'No words. We owe you everything. Love you forever,' the band wrote alongside a photo of Williams, a founding member in 2005."

Band member Jeremy DePoyster posted on X, "I don't know what I'm supposed to say. Dan made the band that gave me my whole life. Dave was my mentor, my friend, the best person I've ever met. Hurts. Bad. I love you boys."

Dave Shapiro Was Hailed For His Ability As A Music Industry Professional

Per the outlet, "Shapiro, 42, was the co-founder of Sound Talent Group (STG), clients of which include the bands Sum 41, Story of the Year and Parkway Drive."

Two STG employees along with Shapiro perished in the plane crash. Per Billboard, a statement from an STG spokesperson noted, "We are devastated by the loss of our co-founder, colleagues, and friends. Our hearts go out to their families and to everyone impacted by today's tragedy. Thank you so much for respecting their privacy at this time."
