Yeah, this is an easy guess. Especially for those of us with women in our lives. I would certainly be surprised if you had a lady in your life who didn't love a margarita. (I'm coping right now. I'm a huge fan too. But I'm not allowed to admit that.) What did surprise me was which restaurant had the highest sales. At least at first. Then I thought more about it. And honestly, makes a ton of sense. Chili's is one of the biggest and most easily accessible restaurants out there. Who hasn't gone to a Chili's before?

Chili's: The King Of Margaritas?
Yeah, this company is legit at selling Margs. And again, it's not like they sit on an empty throne. We are talking about the highest-selling drink in the United States. Somehow, Chili's has sold 25 million Margaritas in a calendar year. 25 MILLION.
But this is all in a day's work for the company, according to a talk between Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) George Felix and Marketing Drive. Apparently, the Margarita is a huge part of the brand for this Mexican-style Casual Dining spot.
The marketing they have done for their Margaritas is insane. They brought a Margarita shaker-shaped mechanical bull to a NASCAR event. And they created a music video as part of their campaign celebrating their Presidente Margarita. But they did something even better. This company made a rom-com based on Margaritas. It's called I'll Be Home for National Margarita Day, and it's in partnership with Lifetime. I know, as I've said before, crazy work from Chili's.
The CMO also hinted that this was not the end. He hopes that the Lifetime movie "spurs more celebrations of a really important holiday." (That holiday, of course, being National Margarita Day.
What's Next?
Well, Chili's keeps celebrating margaritas! Currently, the company is campaigning for their Radical Rita, the Margarita of the Month for May.
They've hired Tiffani Thiessen, who is best known for her role in Saved By The Bell, to help promote the drink. She's said on the subject, "Everyone knows me from my days on America's favorite '90s sitcom, but what they might not know is that I also love a great margarita — and some of my favorite early memories with my husband were made at Chili's." She went on to compliment the drink itself.
Hopefully, this new drink and the one that follows live up to the obvious standard this company has set.
