We know that Jelly Roll has incredible talent. It's clear every time he sings or releases new material. But he also has a buoyant sense of humor. He recently took to Instagram to say he is absolutely tickled about something really big and meaningful to him. Jelly was on Lil Wayne's new album, The Carter VI, and Eminem's most recent LP, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace) in the same year, per American Songwriter. That represents an impressive career peak for anyone.

There is a video of Jelly, 40, sitting in front of a laptop contemplating his achievement. At one point, he claps both hands to his face with unrestrained glee just thinking about it. He is very happy for himself and we are glad for him too! The guy is as joyous as a kid on Christmas! Jelly laughingly says he can retire now, having done something so significant in his profession and to him personally.
Jelly Roll's Wife, Bunnie Xo, Posted The Video Of Him Exulting
Jelly is clearly loving every second of this. No wonder! He finally blurts out, "I was on Lil Wayne and Eminem's album in the same year, y'all. I retire. It's over, y'all, I quit the music business. This is my last tour ever. I can't do anything cool."
He Seems To Have A Special Affinity For Eminem
Last year, Jelly posted on Instagram that he felt a deep connection to Eminem. It said in part, "I related to every word Eminem wrote. I understand him and felt like he understood me, which was rare cause I spent most of my life feeling misunderstood."
The two did a duet just a few weeks ago in Detroit. They teamed to sing "Lose Yourself."
Jelly Roll Has Already Accomplished So Much
He has been Grammy nominated four times, and has hits to his credit like "I Am Not Okay" and "Need a Favor." His sincere, upfront personality endears him to audiences. There is no guile or posturing in him at all. Actually, Jelly has been very forthright about some of the rough times in his life; his humility is refreshing and genuine.
