Country singer Nate Smith has canceled all remaining shows in June after doctors ordered him to go on strict vocal rest. The announcement came via social media on June 4 and includes several high-profile appearances. That includes a stop at CMA Fest and a performance before a NASCAR race.

The 39-year-old California native said the decision wasn't easy, but it was necessary.
"We've all come to the decision that the best way to get my voice fully back is to rest it for the first time in almost five years," Smith wrote in a heartfelt message to fans.
Smith had been scheduled to perform on June 8 at Michigan International Speedway as part of the Busch Light Summer Music Series. That concert, held ahead of the FireKeepers Casino 400, will now move forward without him.
CMA Fest Appearance Canceled
The "Whiskey on You" singer described the canceled run as full of "bucket list shows," including a coveted slot at Nashville's annual CMA Fest.
"It breaks my heart knowing that I won't be there to see all of you," Smith added. "My commitment to everyone is to truly rest so I can get back out to do what I love more than anything."
He ended the post on an optimistic note, promising fans "absolute" recovery and adding, "I'll be dreaming of the road until then."
Country Stars Rally Around Smith
Fans weren't the only ones offering support. Fellow artists quickly reached out to encourage Smith during his hiatus.
"Health is wealth," wrote Bailey Zimmerman. "Get better bro."
Dierks Bentley added, "Sorry to hear dude. Hang in there."
Christian artist Brandon Lake, who recently topped charts with Jelly Roll, told Smith he's "praying for complete healing."
Smith is expected to return to the stage on July 3 at the Schuyler County Fair in Russellville, Illinois, according to his official website.
From TikTok to the Charts
Smith burst onto the scene in 2020 after uploading his song "Wildfire" to TikTok. The track went viral and led to a publishing deal with Sony/ATV and a recording contract with Sony Music Nashville. His success continued with hits like "World on Fire" and a collaboration with Avril Lavigne on "Bulletproof."
Born September 19, 1985, in Paradise, California, Smith grew up inspired by artists like Garth Brooks and Fleetwood Mac. He started performing with help from a church youth leader, then moved to Nashville at 23. Before his Sony deal, he signed briefly with Word Records and toured with acts such as Brett Eldredge and the Eli Young Band.
