The drama around The Kelly Clarkson Show lately is wild. Insiders suggest some serious turbulence behind the scenes, that it could collapse at any moment. There's a bunch of strange absences with nothing in the way of an explanation. Some speculate that it's ex-husband related, others suspect deeply rooted unhappiness with her talk show. Then, there's rumors she might pick up another show instead.

It's all deeply confusing, to the point one staffer reportedly expressed their discontent. But here's where it got juicy: they floated out another name to replace Kelly Clarkson. "Everyone loves Kelly. She's a wonderful person. But maybe Hoda [Kotb] would be a better boss. I know she's universally beloved and respected by her former coworkers. Maybe she would be good. She sure would be a lot more stable than what we've been going through."
Could Hoda Kotb Be The Big Kelly Clarkson Replacement?
This is where all the rumors fly around Kotb replacing Clarkson. But she was quick to turn the idea down. When appearing as a guest for the Today show, she says the only way she would come back to TV is at her old stomping grounds. "Do you think that if I ever came back to TV... do you know the only place I would ever come back is? Right here, this is the spot. There's no place like home," Hoda says.
However, now she's playing a little coy. Recently, she appeared on an episode of Watch What Happens: Live With Andy Cohen. There, she responds to fan questions, one of which asking if she would host her own TV show one day. Immediately, Kotb clocks the reference. "You're talking about the Kelly Clarkson rumor?" she replies.
"I feel like Kelly is, like, in a class all by herself," Hoda adds, though she admits shes a 'never say never' person. "You don't know what life's gonna bring you, but at this moment, I'm having such fun with the ride that I'm on. But, you know... TV is my first love. So as I say, in life, you don't know."
This definitely doesn't alleviate any of those Kelly Clarkson rumors. I'm sure the idea of flying solo is pretty enticing for Hoda Kotb too. We'll have to see if she takes over or if any other frontrunners emerge soon.
