The Best 5 New Country Songs This Week — Sit And Enjoy (June 19 Edition)

Howdy, partner. I hope you're ready for some pretty damn good country songs. Below are the top 5 songs released this past week. The week's almost over, so have a sit back and enjoy.

Videos by Wide Open Country

The Rhinestone Revolution album featured in last week's list is an album I still listen to, so go and visit that list after this one.

As we've been doing this for 15 weeks now, our Spotify playlist is almost up to 100 songs. Save the playlist now so you can boast that you were here before it got big. Check out the playlist below.

Sitting back and relaxed? Let's get on with it.

Man Of The North

"Man Of The North" by Liam St. John takes the top spot this week. The vivid imagery brought forth by the consistent metaphors is as impressive as it is beautiful. Using the striking northern scenery, St. John shows that he's reliable, steadfast, and resilient, rather than simply telling us that he is.

It's a powerful song that I can't get enough of. The songwriting is one thing, but the whole song is moving from start to finish.

Pearl Snap Preacher

"Peal Snap Preacher" by Chancey Williams is another powerful song, but for a completely different reason. He shines a light on the ranchers and the farmers who may be in the pens rather than the pews, but are no less faithful.

It's an earnest and sincere song that highlights all the pastors in the pastures in a moving way. I love the song, and I'm sure you will, too.

Do Si Do

"Do Si Do" by Scott Wolverton swings into third place. I can't help but find the song addictive. He's got a hell of a voice, and the song itself is a bop.

It tells a story that's been told time and time again, but it's so infectious that I can't put it down. Wolverton's vocal ability is impressive and certainly elevates the song.

Girlfriend's Got A Boyfriend

"Girlfriend's Got A Boyfriend" by Cole Goodwin is a playful song about Goodwin slowly finding out his partner has been cheating on him.

Listening to this song is always a fun time, despite the pretty bleak subject matter. The classic country vibes are all over the song, much like his girlfriend and this mystery boyfriend...

Getter Back Song

"Getter Back Song" by Aaron Watson closes this list. It's a simple song about someone asking the DJ to assist him in getting his girl back before someone else wins her over.

The song isn't especially fancy or mind-blowing, but it's a solid honky-tonk tune that has a rightful place on this list.

Best Album — Tropicana

The Tropicana album by Joshua Ray Walker is the best album released this week. The tropical vibe is infectious and is perfect for welcoming in the coming summer season. The album was written during Walker's treatment for stage 3b colon cancer as he dreamed of beaches, hammocks, and piña coladas.

The album is like taking a long sip of a fruity cocktail. Each song has different notes, but they're all the same drink. I really enjoyed listening through the album, and I'm sure you will, too.

That's it for this week! Save the playlist to listen to the best of country over the past few months. Make sure to come back next week. Till then, stay safe.
