Bruce Springsteen Has Nothing But Praise For 'The Bear' Star And His Portrayal Of Him

But is that truly surprising to anyone? I mean, come on. Who else here has seen The Bear? Jeremy Allen White was an absolute rockstar in that series. And even before that, I don't know if anyone here is old enough to have watched Shameless, but he is fantastic in that show, too. Everywhere this relatively young actor goes, he kills it. (Also, if Bruce Springsteen talked badly about the performance, he'd be shooting himself in the foot anyway.)

Bruce Hypes Up Jeremy

Yeah, so My. Springsteen is all in on the casting choice. There seems to be very little negativity, if any, pushed towards The Bear star.

Bruce Springsteen had a very candid conversation with Rolling Stone recently where he laid out how happy he was with Jeremy's portrayal of him in the upcoming biopic. The rock star was allowed several visits to the set as the movie came into being.

He spoke somewhat jokingly and very openly about how he made sure Jeremy Allen White set boundaries. He hoped not to stress out the star too much. He even went so far as to tell Jeremy to, "give me the look and I'm on my way home".

He truly did not feel stressed watching the making of Deliver Me From Nowhere. He joked with Stone, "I'm sure it was much worse for the actor than for me."

Nothing But Love For 'The Bear' Star

Bruce Springsteen kept heaping on the praise. He mentioned, "So the days that I got out there, he was wonderfully tolerant with me being there, and it was just fun. It was enjoyable."

Apparently, he did opt out of watching the super emotional scenes. But that simply makes sense for the global phenomenon. That has to be tough to watch the worst parts of your life rehashed over and over again. Especially if there are mistakes in the takes.

He also wanted to make sure the film or the actor didn't pull any punches. In his own words, he wanted Jeremy, "to feel completely free, and I didn't want to get in the way."

Bruce made sure he was always available, though. He never wanted to be too far away. He said if the film's writer-director "wanted or needed me there for anything, I would try to make it."

After all, this is the story of his life. I can't really blame the guy.
