Willie Nelson Cancels Concert After Bad Weather Ruins Instruments & Equipment

Willie Nelson has had to cancel shows for a variety of reasons in his career. Usually, it has to do with his health. He'll end up being too sick to give fans the proper performance he wishes to give them. This is an understandable reason. However, sometimes, it's completely out of his control. This is the case for his most recent stop, where Mother Nature has other plans for Willie and the crew.

Recently, El Reno, Oklahoma was supposed to have the 10th Anniversary concert for the Outlaw Music Festival. However, the official Instagram account shares that they've had to cancel the proceedings. Weather at a previous stop radically affected the equipment necessary to properly run the Willie Nelson headlined show. "An extreme weather event on the evening of June 29th in Ridgedale, MO at Thunder Ridge Nature Arena produced heavy rains and high winds forcing the crowd to evacuate," the statement reads.

"Unfortunately, much of the Outlaw Music Festival's equipment and artists' instruments were damaged and waterlogged," the statement continues. "Making their condition difficult to assess in time to accurately and safely use for tomorrow's show. The potential damage has halted the festival production as they recover and replace what's necessary for the tour to resume. The tour looks forward to resuming in Austin on July 4."

Willie Nelson acts as the festival tour's headliner, alongside Bob Dylan and Sheryl Crow as the big stars on the lineup. For more diehard fans, Lucinda Williams, The Mavericks, Billy Strings, Waxahatchee, Charles Wesley Godwin, and more help fill out the lineup. In the meantime, Willie and the crew head back to his home state of Texas to continue the tour. It goes hand in hand with his latest album, Oh What a Beautiful World.
