Country music star Cody Jinks planned to celebrate Independence Day in Canada with a pair of shows in British Columbia. Unfortunately, the Canada Border Services Agency had other plans.

The "Hippies and Cowboys" singer announced in a social media post on July 2 that his shows scheduled for Friday, July 4, at Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre and Saturday, July 5, at Prospera Place in Kelowna would have to be canceled.
The reason? Jinks explained that while attempting to cross the border, his "production trucks were forced to turn around and head back to the United States" by the agency.
"Getting them into Canada was made a logistical impossibility despite following all the prescribed procedures given to us," he explained.
Jinks added, "It is incredibly important to me that everyone who spends their hard-earned money to see a show gets the absolute best experience possible. And right now, that standard just can't be met without my trucks."
He continued, "It kills me to have to do this because putting on these shows for you guys has always been the greatest joy of my career. But unfortunately my hands are tied."
Refunds for these shows will be credited to ticket holders within 30 days using the original method of payment.
Jinks also has a new album coming out
This incident could be a blow to Canadian fans of Jinks, eager to hear new material from the country star. His latest album, 'In My Blood,' comes out on July 25. According to Billboard, the album's songs further the "reflective" mood the songwriter tapped into when writing 'Change the Game'. Jinks also hopes fans discover a little bit about themselves when listening to his new material.
"I hope that if you really dive into the lyrics of this record, you find yourself, you find people, and you find letting go of the past and the things that hold you down, and looking forward to the things that are good for you," he says. "It's about finding yourself, about being thankful, about becoming more reserved and growing up. It's a pretty wild ride, so the record reflects that. Our band made this record sound like it does."
