If you said 'flowers' or 'fruit,' you would be correct. However, Gwen Stefani doesn't follow trends; she makes them. To celebrate her marriage with Blake Shelton, the No Doubt singer gifted him a montage.
The video, which was posted on July 3, is a cute commemoration of the unlikely couple's relationship. Set to their 2024 duet "Purple Irises," it's filled with clips of Stefani and Shelton lovingly looking into each other's eyes, holding hands and dressing up in silly costumes. If you have two eyes and a heart, it's hard to not be slightly moved by the post.
But it's the caption of the post that might get your eyes a little moist. Filled with several heart emojis, it reads, "7-3-21. Every day I thank God for u @blakeshelton. Happy anniversary. I love u so much."
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani's love story goes way back
While the duo has only been married for four years, they actually met in 2014 when they were coaches on the long-running reality singing competition show The Voice. At the time, Shelton was married to singer Miranda Lambert, and Stefani was married to Gavin Rossdale, the frontman of the band Bush.
The following year, both Stefani and Shelton changed their marriage status to "divorced" around the same time and began dating each other.
Shelton also got in on the action
The couple were married in the same chapel where Shelton proposed to Stefani. It was built on the Oklahoma ranch of the "Country Strong" singer. Shelton posted a beautiful picture of the wedding on his socials.
"My pretty girl," says the caption. "I'm the luckiest man to be married to you and to know you. I love you @gwenstefani!!!!!! Happy anniversary!!!!"
In addition to "Purple Irises," the couple have put out several other duets, including "Happy Anywhere" and "Nobody but You," which marked Stefani's debut on the country charts.
After serving as a coach since The Voice's debut in 2011, Shelton stepped down from the show in May 2023. He said he wanted to spend more time with Stefani and the three sons she shares with Rossdale. Stefani threw Shelton a surprise party for his last episode, which makes the couple even more endearing.
