Luke Bryan is back on the road. The Georgia native resumes his Country Song Came On Tour on Thursday, July 10, with a show in Toronto, Ontario, after taking a prolonged time away, due to illness.
Bryan shares his heartfelt thanks to his fans on social media, along with fellow superstar Eric Church. It's Church who filled on for Bryan for three festival dates, when Bryan was still under the weather.
"I wanted to thank everybody for all the well wishes, for the last few shows that I had to postpone and obviously cancel," Bryan says. "I want to thank my buddy Eric Church for stepping in, and helping out with me. It really, really gets frustrating getting sick like that, and losing my voice, and having to take a couple of weekends off. But thank you guys for supporting me. I love y'all, and we'll see you all in the shows to come."
Bryan will follow up his show in Canada with shows in Ohio and Pennsylvania this weekend. His Country Song Came On Tour wraps up on September 12 in Dallas, Texas.
What Happened To Luke Bryan's Voice
Bryan's vocal issues began last month, when he was performing in Arkansas. At the time, he played an entire show, while also refunding fans' money, since he didn't feel he was at his best.
"I don't give a damn, I'm gonna refund everybody's tickets tonight, and we're gonna keep doing the damn show, okay?" Bryan said at the time.
While the father of two initially thought his vocal issues were due to the venue, he soon realized he was actually becoming ill. Bryan canceled some shows, believing the rest would be enough for him to get better. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case, and Bryan also canceled three festival dates, with Church taking his place.
"I'm really sorry to say I won't be able to play this weekend's shows due to continued illness. I've been hoping to rally, but my voice is just not there yet," Bryan shared in a message to his fans.
"Huge thanks to my buddy [Eric Church] for stepping in last minute — and of course, putting on a kick ass show like he always does," Bryan continued. "Sitting still is not what I do best, so I can't wait to be back soon."
