Felipe Silva, one-half of the country music duo, died after being involved in an accident involving a pickup truck. Per a report regarding the incident, the Brazilian singer was standing up in the bed of the vehicle when it suddenly started. It knocked Silva off the truck, causing a head injury. He was rushed immediately to the hospital after the incident.
Silva was treated for brain swelling at a facility in the Brazilian city of Araguaína, according to his manager. Two days after the accident, on July 14, the 24-year-old died as a result of the injury.
Felipe Silva Made a Huge Impact in a Short Time
Silva and his friend Raphael Sousa were childhood friends. They began producing music together as Felipe & Raphael last year. They were expected to drop their first project, an EP, later this year.
The group's Instagram account began posting tributes to the beloved singer after his death was announced.
"Today, with broken hearts, we share that our beloved Felipe is no longer with us," the post reads, translated from Portuguese into English. "He's gone... gone too soon...Now he's with the Creator, in the heaven he so often looked to with hope, with his light soul and his voice eternally alive. [...] His dream was always to sing for the world... And now he will be singing in heaven with the angels.
"Today didn't dawn as we expected. It was to be another chapter of a beautiful project, full of dreams, courage and music. A project of the duo Felipe & Raphael, that was born from the heart and true friendship, watered with talent, faith and a lot of will to win."
One wonders what could have been for Felipe & Raphael were it not for this tragedy. We offer Silva's family and friends solace during this challenging time.
