As of July 17, there are over 130 deaths reported in the disaster, and many still remain missing.
Despite his sorrow over the tragedy, the Fort Worth native organized a relief concert to help those affected by the disaster. Although no audience was in attendance, the singer got a little help from his friends. Joining him were Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Corey Kent, Jon Pardi, and the Eli Young Band, among others.
Green's Concert Raised Quite a Bit of Money
The show took place at Globe Life Field, the home of the Texas Rangers baseball team. It was streamed on YouTube. According to Green's foundation's website, the event was a way for him to "channel his personal grief toward a positive end."
"The one thing I know about Texas is that Texas stands up for Texas," Green said. "We all look out for each other and stand our ground."
You can watch the entire concert below.
The concert raised over a million dollars through the Pat Green Foundation. The funds will be distributed to the Kerr County Relief Fund, TEXSAR, and the Do It For Durrett Foundation.
