Steve Miller Band Abruptly Cancels Entire North American Tour Over Weather Concerns

Artists cancel and postpone tours for a myriad of reasons. Occasionally, it can be for personal reasons, for family or mental health woes. Oftentimes, it ends up being something to do with physical health. A sickness or an injury can delay or even outright cancel shows if it's bad enough. Moreover, sometimes, circumstances like the weather can be out of the person's control, causing an artist to at least postpone the show. However, I have never quite heard of what the Steve Miller Band has just done.

Apparently, the weather is so scary nowadays, that the group is more inclined to cancel an entire tour for it. Recently, the band posted on Instagram, revealing that they have decided against performing the entirety of their North American tour. They were supposed to start next month, August 15th, in New York and end in Anaheim, California on November 8th. However, due to some divine gut feeling, they're not going on at all. "Dear Steve Miller Band fans, you make music with your instincts. You live your life by your instincts. Always trust your instincts," they write in a statement.

Steve Miller Band Bizarrely Cancel Any of Their North American Shows for Weather Concerns

"The combination of extreme heat, unpredictable flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes and massive forest fires make these risks for you our audience, the band and the crew unacceptable. "So... You can blame it on the weather... The tour is cancelled. Don't know where, don't know when... we hope to all see you again," Steve and the band write.

This is a strange reason to cancel a tour. Something definitely smells a bit fishy here. It could be some personal issues within the band or something else they're hiding from the public. Regardless, the weather doesn't usually mean you cancel the *entire* thing as a whole. Still, Steve Miller Band haven't offered another comment in the meantime.
