Sheryl Crow Goes to War Against Donald Trump in New Song

Music has waged its war with and against President Donald Trump. Of course, country artists like John Rich and Jason Aldean are vocal acolytes of his. Moreover, Trump hasn't exactly shied away from combatting with artists exactly either. For instance, he loves poking fun at Taylor Swift and has openly prodded Bruce Springsteen amidst his criticisms of current U.S. administration. This is just the tip of the iceberg for artists against Trump like Neil Young. Now, you can add Sheryl Crow to that list.

Recently, Crow released a new song with her touring band called "The New Normal." There, she calls out Trump's leadership and her fears about artificial intelligence eventually taking over. ""Is it science fiction or prediction wrapped in George Orwell?" Sheryl Croons in reference to the book 1984. "If the news is fake and fear is hate and nothing's immoral/ To the leader of the free world, then welcome to the new normal."

Additionally, Crow reveals in an Instagram post the reason why she felt like now was an important time to release the song. Ultimately, she just hopes to express her fears about everything and maybe someone can relate out there. Moreover, it seems like this is going to culminate into a full length outing from Sheryl too.

"What's happening all around us is so unbelievably bizarre, that my fear is we will truly begin to feel like this is normal. And that's what terrifies me," Crow says. "I am so blessed to have the band that I have. For years, we have jammed up such cool stuff during sound checks that we decide we go in and start recording as a band. Can't wait for everyone to hear the new stuff we are doing."
