Loretta Lynn’s Granddaughter Asks for Prayers After Her 6-Month-Old Is Rushed to Hospital

Loretta Lynn's granddaughter, Emmy Russell told fans to "pray for normal brian waves" for her daughter Taylor, who is in the hospital.

Loretta Lynn's granddaughter, American Idol contestant Emmy Russell, has been spending a lot less time on the stage and a lot more time in the hospital since the birth of her new daughter, Taylor Raydiant. The singer took to Instagram on Monday to give an update on Taylor, who has been recovering from seizures after being born.

"These last few days have been interesting for us. We've noticed that little Taylor has had some seizures and we took her to the hospital today, and we know that in these moments, we really do believe in the power of prayer."

Seizure in the neonatal period, which is about 28 days after birth, is actually the time in life when people are most at risk for seizures. For a 6-month-old like Taylor, seizures can often occur due to having a high fever, but can also be caused by brain malfunctions, metabolic disorders, or genetic conditions.

Emmy explained that baby Taylor was undergoing several tests, including an EEG, and asked fans to "pray for normal brain waves." Taylor has been experiencing numerous spasms, according to Russell, who said, "Pray for answers, because I really do want answers."

More recently, the singer posted another update on Instagram, thanking fans for their prayers thus far and saying that "She has the EEG, so we will see what her results are and next steps. The neurologist should be coming in very soon. Please continue to pray."

Health Problems Have Been Hard on Baby Taylor, but Also on Emmy

The road from delivery to healthy baby hasn't been an easy one for Taylor, the first child of Emmy and her husband, Tyler Ward, whom she married in 2024. However, it has also not been easy for Russell, and she has been sharing her experiences on social media since Taylor was born in January.

Fans were given an update on Taylor in February after Russell was still in the hospital due to feeling weak. Ward posted an update on the birth on Russell's Instagram, sharing that his wife had lost a "liter of blood" and still wasn't discharged. The couple posted a second update at home, saying that Russell had been having breakdowns "every 5 seconds" because she couldn't breastfeed or hold her baby, as she felt so weak.

So far, it hasn't been an easy run for this little family with all the health complications, but we hope that Taylor can regain strength sometime soon and that Emmy can enjoy motherhood without the stress.
