If you really love a house, you want to sell it to someone who will care for it the way you did, right? Former Kiss rocker Gene Simmons, 75, took that a step further recently. His opulent Beverly Hills mansion was on the market. He voiced very specific guidelines about who he did not want to buy it. Simmons said in April per music-news.com, via The Wall Street Journal, "You have such wonderful times there, you don't want some schmuck in the place you call home. No drugs, no alcoholics. I don't want anybody coming in there who is going to destroy the place."

Gene Simmons' Former Home Was Palatial
The place is apparently sublime to the max. No wonder he was choosy about who bought it! Per the outlet, it has five bathrooms and four bedrooms. Not to mention grandly soaring ceilings, a massive infinity pool, a gallery, and a theater.
The ultra-luxe pad went for $28 million - double the asking price. Wow!
Understandably, Simmons adored it. According to a statement issued when the mansion was first offered for sale, he said, "My favorite part of the house is waking up in the morning in the upper bedroom, having coffee in bed, and on a clear day being able to see all the way out to the ocean."
He Bought It Four Years Ago
Per realtor.com, Simmons and his wife, Shannon Tweed Simmons, 68, purchased the home in 2021. They reportedly paid $10.5 million, so they made a tidy profit when someone bought it. Its design came from the drawing board of a Swiss architect named Roger P. Kurath. All I can say is that he knew exactly what he was doing. Judging from photos on realtor.com, the home boasts plenty of natural light, airy spaces for relaxing, dining, and entertaining, and blends the stateliness of a typical Beverly Hills residence with the casual coziness of a family-friendly dwelling.
Simmons enjoyed the stunning vistas afforded by the large windows. He said per the outlet in that pre-sale statement, "And my other favorite time is sunset in the upper bedroom or downstairs barbecuing something outdoors. The views really are spectacular."
