"Stone Cold Love of My Life": Chris Stapleton Serenades His Wife at Madison Square Garden

There's no place more romantic than New York City. It has breathtaking views, fine dining, and endless dating experiences. Maybe that's why the metropolis is the setting for nearly every great rom-com in movie history.

"The City That Never Sleeps" certainly brought out something in country music star Chris Stapleton. While performing at the iconic arena Madison Square Garden on July 25-26, he took a moment to pay tribute to his wife, Morgane.

Morgane and Chris Stapleton's Love Story Is One for the Ages

The duo's courtship story sounds straight out of a movie. In 2003, Morgane and Chris worked in neighboring music publishing firms in Nashville. She would hang out in a friend's office in the hopes of catching Chris. She once joked that she "kinda did stalk him."

The couple's first date didn't start out as one. Chris invited Morgane to a songwriting session on a Friday evening. However, they didn't get much writing done.

Chris and Morgane married in 2007 and now have five children: Waylon, Ada, twins Macon and Samuel, and a son born in 2019 whose name has not been publicly revealed.

The Couple Also Have a Creative Relationship

Before joining together as man and wife, Morgane co-wrote songs for Carrie Underwood, Lee Ann Womack, Kellie Pickler, Trisha Yearwood, Alan Jackson, LeAnn Rimes, and Reba McEntire.

However, she and Chris have been collaborators for years. Chris credits Morgane for turning his thoughts into music. She also helped shape his breakthrough album, 2015's Traveller, by selecting the majority of the songs. She is credited as a producer on Chris' album, Higher.

Fans can also spot Morgane at Chris' concerts. She often sings backup and plays tambourine at his shows, and even serves as the perfect duet partner for "You Are My Sunshine."

Stapleton Had a New Song To Share

As we said above, there must have been romance in the New York City air last weekend. Chris obviously felt it. So at one of his Madison Square Garden shows, he turned to his wife and serenaded her with an unreleased track:

"Baby, baby, baby / Well, this is my lady / She also happens to be my wife / Mother of my five children / the stone-cold love of my life"

She blushed the whole time SO CUTE @Chris Stapleton #chrisstapleton #country #concert #msg

? original sound - Bella McCain

Judging from her red cheeks and big smile, Morgane approves of the song.

So did social media, apparently. One commenter said, "He loves her so much." Another wrote, "Oh, to be her in that moment."

It just shows that with Chris Stapleton around, men have to step up their game.
