Kings of Leon announced on social media that its latest single, "We're Onto Something," will feature Zach Bryan.

This Isn't the First Time Zach Bryan and Kings of Leon Have Worked Together

Bryan released his first song with Kings of Leon, "Bowery," on August 8.

The singer called the collaboration the honor of his life when he announced the song on social media.

"Bowery" is the perfect mix of what makes a Bryan song great and a Kings of Leon track rock. The riffs get a little twang courtesy of Bryan, but it's the lyrics that give the song its edge. The line "I got the passion/But I don't give it away" is a highlight. It sounds straight out of an early Bruce Springsteen album.

In addition to "Bowery," the "Heading South" singer played with Kings of Leon for a series of shows from July 18-20 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. He then reunited with the band at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco on Aug. 15.

What We Know About "We're Onto Something"

Over the last week, Kings of Leon has been teasing the song's release by posting clips of themselves working in the studio or sharing a verse along with the chorus:

"I get to rambling, talking about the animals,

flippin' around the channels,

living in my new flannel pajamas, until the weather is warm,

We're still here

So something is clearly working,

I'm certain the birds are chirpin', I'm certain we will be hurtin',

If we make it through the eye of the storm,

I think we're onto something."

The "Sex On Fire" band also posted a clip of performing "We're Onto Something" with Bryan in San Francisco over the weekend on its socials. It sounds like a bluesy ballad in the vein of the song "Back Down South," which appeared on the 2010 Kings of Leon album 'Come Around Sundown.'

While other country artists are finding inspiration in hip-hop, Bryan continues to dip his toes into the world of rock and roll. It remains unclear whether there will be more songs to come from this team-up, but so far, we like what we're hearing.
