Yes, Tim McGraw Does Eat Junk Food, But Only If He Earns It

Yes, Tim McGraw does, in fact, eat junk food. But only if he feels like he earns it, which for McGraw isn't easy. The 58-year-old reveals he has his favorite cheat meals, ones he only indulges in on occasion. He also shares that he works out most, but not quite every, day of the week.

"You gotta have one day of recovery," McGraw explains. "Sometimes I don't take a day off because I know that there's some time coming up where I'll be forced to have a couple of days off. But you gotta allow yourself a cheat day every now and then. Once a month or so is not too bad. If I get a chance to have a cheeseburger or a chili dog every now and then, I'm gonna have one."

The father of three goes on to share his favorite cheat meal of all time, which he typically enjoys on his birthday.

"My favorite probably is pot roast and rice and gravy and peas and cornbread," says the singer. "But I try to earn it on that day. So, if I know I'm gonna have a cheeseburger or a chili dog, I try to put a little extra work in. But I love my cheat days and I love a day off every now and then and just sort of binge watch something on TV."

Tim McGraw Decided To Get Fit After He Quit Drinking

It was after McGraw quit drinking in 2008 when he decided to focus on his health. McGraw might be a much different version of himself, if not for his wife, Faith Hill, who inspired him to give up alcohol, for good.

"I remember a moment when I was getting out of bed and going to the liquor cabinet and taking a big shot at 8:00 in the morning and thinking, 'I have to wake the kids up,'" McGraw recalls to Esquire. "I went straight to my wife and said, 'This is where I'm at.' I was scared. She just grabbed me and hugged me and changed my life."

It wasn't just encouraging him to quit drinking. The father of three says Hill changed everything for him for the better.

"Meeting my wife saved my life. I was a wild man," McGraw says on Tracy Lawrence's Road House podcast. "I was having fun. She turned my life around. I couldn't have found a better woman. Not only beautiful and talented, but just a good, good person."
