Bailey Zimmerman is opening up about one of the darkest moments in his career. Zimmerman famously got drunk while performing at Luke Bryan's Crash My Playa, later apologizing for his behavior. Now, Zimmerman reveals the surprising advice Bryan gave him after the unfortunate event.

"We had a bit of a mishap at Crash My Playa," Zimmerman says on Country Countdown USA. "I had been drinking too much that day. I thought Luke was mad at me. But he called me to the main stage, and he told me, 'Drink after the show. You're young. You'll learn.'"
Zimmerman is now grateful for the experience, and what he learned from not only over imbibing, but from Bryan being so gracious.
"It was a big turning point for me," Zimmerman says. "Thank you, Luke Bryan, for the advice, I'm gonna take it, and since then, I have."
What Bailey Zimmerman Said After Drinking Too Much
Soon after Zimmerman's drunk performance, the Illinois native shared an apology on social media.
"I'd like to talk about something that's been eating me alive," Zimmermans says in the video, posted on January 21. "Last weekend down in Cancún, Mexico, I'm sure everyone has seen the videos of me playing absolutely awful. And singing absolutely awful. And I feel like you guys deserve an explanation from me because you've had my back through the highs and lows and through every mistake."
Zimmerman goes on to share what happened that made him give a less-than-stellar performance.
"So, what happened was I decided to drink that day, which was a mistake," Zimmeran acknowledges. "I got up on stage, and I was too drunk to play. And I sang awful, I played awful. Nobody got the show they wanted or paid for, and I'm disappointed in myself."
Zimmerman also said that he felt bad that he did not represent his spiritual beliefs by being so intoxicated, especially in public.
"If you've been to my shows, you know how much I've talked about God since Day 1, and it was an awful representation of that," Zimmermans says. "I'm embarrassed, and I'm gonna do everything in my power to make sure this never happens again. I'm just asking for a little grace. Man, growing up is interesting, and it's not an excuse, but, man, thank you to everybody who's got my back."
