WWE wrestler Becky Lynch made a joke recently about the late Ozzy Osbourne, and his daughter Kelly had a few things to say in response.

On WWE RAW, a live event was hosted last night (August 25), just over a month after Ozzy Osbourne passed. Osbourne grew up in Birmingham, England, which was where the wrestling event was being filmed. On the show, Lynch made a joke that, "I'm not wrestling in Birmingham. The only good thing that came out of here died a month ago."
Many people commented on the remarks, saying that it was "too soon" and that the comments made were "very disrespectful." Osbourne's daughter's response, however, is what really takes the cake.
On her Instagram story, Kelly Osbourne wasted no time calling out Lynch. She tagged Lynch, saying, "[Becky Lynch], you are a disrespectful dirtbag! Birmingham would not piss on you if you were on fire. #birminghamforever. Shame on the WWE for allowing such things to be said about my father and his home!!!"
Ozzy Osbourne's History With the WWE
As of now, Lynch has yet to respond to the backlash. But we have to say, it was definitely a ballsy move to say that on live television. Especially since Osbourne actually had a history with the WWE and was even inducted into their Hall of Fame.
In 1986, the Black Sabbath frontman first made an appearance with the franchise at WrestleMania 2. It was there that he managed a tag team with Captain Lou Albano. His team took the WWF Tag Team Titles, and in 2009, he hosted an episode of WWE Raw. He and his wife, Sharon Osbourne, did commentary and interacted with several WWE Superstars.
On an episode of SmackDown, he also did a live performance with his band of "I Don't Wanna Stop." In 2021, he was recognized for these contributions by being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
With the family still grieving the death of Osbourne, and fans all around the world still processing, the star's death is definitely still a subject that should be carefully addressed. Recently, the BBC, which was going to release the Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home documentary in late August, decided to postpone its release, based on family wishes. They later released a statement clarifying that the decision was made out of "respect for the family's wishes to wait a bit longer before airing this very special film."
Clearly, now isn't the best time to be making comments on the late star, which is definitely a mistake that Becky Lynch could have avoided. For now, we want to give family and close friends of Osbourne as much space and respect as possible, as they navigate this challenging time.
