The trio, consisting of sisters Danica Hart and Devynn Hart and cousin Trea Swindle, announced on its social media on Aug. 26 that the ladies are about to "step into new seasons in life" and have "decided to press pause " on the group to pursue "other passions."
The Story of Chapel Hart So Far
The group, named for a church in its hometown of Poplarville, Mississippi, began busking on the streets of New Orleans. It soon began writing its own songs, adding a country influence to its gospel sound.
In 2021, Chapel Hart was named one of CMT's "Next Women in Country." But it was their America's Got Talent performance of "You Can Have Him Jolene" in 2022 that brought them national attention.
A response to Dolly Parton's classic song "Jolene," the performance earned the group the Golden Buzzer from all four judges, which advanced them to the next round. Even Dolly Parton herself approved!
Since then, Chapel Hart's strong harmonies and storytelling, along with its infectious energy, have won over millions of listeners with the albums 'The Girls Are Back in Town' and 'Glory Days.' However, the group is about to embark on a new chapter.
What's Next for Chapel Hart?
In the announcement post, the group emphasized that "this is not a goodbye. It is a celebration of everything we have built and a step toward everything still to come."
The group adds, "We kindly ask for the same love and support as we each walk our different paths. You can find Danica sharing her journey at @thedanicahart while Dev and Trea begin their next chapter at @magnoliarisingofficial."
It then ends with this farewell to fans: "Thank you for being part of this incredible ride. The Chapel Hart story will always be a beautiful part of our lives, and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for each of us.
We want to celebrate the community we've built together, so as we finish playing our scheduled shows for the rest of the season, we hope that we get to see each and every one of you on the road!! We love and thank you for being a part of the congregation and we look forward to your continued support."
