The internet has been buzzing after the death of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk. The 31-year-old was brutally shot while speaking at a pop-up at a University in Utah. Lots of celebrities, including Kane Brown and Parker McCollum, have taken to social media to respond to the incident and send their sympathy to Charlie's wife, with whom he shared two children.

Recently, Sammy Hagar, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, chimed in on the tragedy. Hagar decided to speak on the situation in the best way that he knows how, through song, of course.
Creating his own rendition of "Are The Good Times Really Over?" by Merle Haggard, Hagar tweaked the chorus and uploaded his version to social media. The song explores themes of moral decay and societal struggle. The hit was written a decade after the Vietnam War and was intended to address the Watergate scandal. It also addressed other issues, pleading for better and simpler times, reminiscent of those in the past.
Here is the chorus of Mearle Haggard's hit.
"And are the good times really over for good / Are we rollin' down hill like a snowball headed for hell / With no kind of chance for the flag or the Liberty Bell / I wish a Ford and a Chevy would still last ten years
Like they should / Is the best of the free life behind us now / And are the good times really over for good"
In Hagar's version, he asks Americans to "stop" rolling down the hill like a snowball headed for hell. He keeps the rest of the chorus the same for the most part. He captioned the video so he wouldn't have to explain himself further. "This is not a political statement, this is a question?"
Sammy Hagar's Not the Only One
Other artists, like Parker McCollum, also shared on social media their feelings after Kirk's death. The "What Kinda Man" singer posted a picture of Kirk on Instagram, with a caption expressing his grief. "I don't even know what to say anymore. Charlie was one of the greatest young patriots this country has ever seen. Thank you for standing up for what so many of us believe so strongly."
While many fans in the comments expressed support, there are a lot of varying opinions on the internet right now, and while many are grieving Kirk's death, others have a lot to say.
