This is an interesting situation about more than football. QB Diego Pavia of the Vanderbilt Commodores reportedly told comedian Theo Von that if Pavia's squad triumphed over the South Carolina Gamecocks on September 13, Von could take his mom Antoinette on a date. Turns out that Vanderbilt surprised everyone by coming out on top by a whopping score of 31-7.

But there is a catch, according to at least one outlet. Saturday Down South is reporting that Pavia will let Von take his mom out - if he gets Pavia a date with singer Tate McRae! Pavia posted on X, "what theo von forgot is, I said it was a deal if and only if he told tate mcrae to lemme take her on A1 date in Nashville twitter make it happen"
Von Teased That Pavia's Mom Is His Type
According to Sports Illustrated, Von, who hosts the This Past Weekend podcast, did a sideline interview about the whole Pavia's mom topic with SEC (Southeastern Conference) analyst Cole Cubelic. It got people's attention.
Per the outlet, Von said, "'I've always wanted to marry a nurse,' Von told Cubelic, adding, 'I'd only be friends, I don't want to be his [Pavia's] stepdad or anything.'" Hmmmm! Von took it a step further, posting a snap of Pavia's mother on X with the caption, "where should i take her??" There is a big red heart drawn around Antoinette's face.
People Offered Him Advice
Of course, everyone had ideas for Von. 45. They suggested all kinds of things. Loads of amorous possibilities. Posted one, "Theo, forget the fancy steakhouse, take her to church! If she can worship beside you, she's more than a date, she's a partner. That's the real litmus test, brother. You'll find out real quick if she's about faith or just about free breadsticks."
From another, "She's from New Mexico just like my fiancée, and she's the one who brought me closer to God. Sometimes the best blessings come from the same place."
Here is a different take. "But seriously, I'm sure this is all funnzies. I'm curious how this will actually play out. How cool would it be if it was real?"
Someone wrote, "Why don't you ask her?" So Von replied, "that might be the move. i wanna do somewhere respectable and joyful. maybe a coffee or animal park idk"
