Country music fans are very loyal to the artists they love. Some of the biggest names in the genre have had their public foul-ups yet retained their devotees. One of the most prominent is Jason Aldean. He has made headlines and raised eyebrows from time to time due to his choices and actions. Per Taste Of Country, he talked frankly about that subject when he was a guest on Dax Shpherd's Armchair Expert.

Aldean, 48, said, "I think country music fans for sure are the most loyal. They latch onto an artist early on in their career and they follow that artist, ya know, unless they just do something really stupid." He added, "It is a lifelong thing for them."
Times When Aldean Incurred the Ire of Some Fans
There was one incident ten years ago that raised some hackles. Aldean decided to don a Halloween get-up to look like rapper Lil Wayne. He also opted for blackface, which did not sit too well with everyone.
In that same year, 2015, Aldean waved a Confederate flag. Per the outlet via Rolling Stone, other country stars were shunning that controversial symbol after a mass shooting at a church in Charleston, South Carolina. Nine people, all African-Americans, lost their lives.
Despite that, Aldean donned a shirt four years later that had a Confederate flag on it. Again, his fellow country music artists were not doing the same. He definitely went against the tide.
One Song of Aldean's Proved Quite Controversial
Aldean's song, "Try That in a Small Town" made big waves two years ago. It was written by Neil Thrasher, Tully Kennedy, Kelley Lovelace, and Kurt Michael Allison. Some people interpreted the track as being pro-vigilante violence and racism. The video was also deemed by some to be unacceptable. It was filmed at a courthouse in Tennessee where a young Black man was lynched in 1927.
The singer stood his ground and explained himself in a statement. "These references are not only meritless, but dangerous. There is not a single lyric in the song that references race or points to it."
