The film details the aftermath of Faith, who, coincidentally, plays a country singer, vanishing out of nowhere. The story will follow Misty Jones (Chastain), the aunt who searches for Faith's character in Nashville. After attempting to hide from the spotlight for years, she'll find herself back in the place that haunts her. The film will be a country-thriller film, the perfect acting debut for Carter Faith.

The singer excitedly shared this update in a post on Instagram. "They're gonna put me in the moviessssss. craziest thing ever to say that i'm gonna be in a movie???? HEARTLAND coming soon to @netflix."

The film is to be directed by Shana Feste, who directed 2010's "Country Strong." It's also produced by Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping from Chernin Entertainment, as well as Jason Owen and Randall Poster.

Who Is Carter Faith?

If you didn't know Carter Faith before, you're going to now. It seems like lately the singer is giving us more and more reasons to pay attention to her. Originally from North Carolina, Carter Faith is a self-taught songwriter and instrumentalist who moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University. Since then, she's shared the stage with acts like Willie Nelson, Keith Urban, and opened for Cole Swindell on tour. She currently has a deal with Universal Music Publishing Group and is releasing her debut album, Cherry Valley, next month.

Originally a "shy" kid growing up, music was something that helped her get out of her shell in her hometown. She shared in an interview, "I wrote poetry a lot as a kid, I have a lot of big feelings, and I love to read. So I would read, and then I would write poetry."

She shared of her love for country music, "it felt like the artists were my friends and neighbors. I'm pretty sure I thought Miranda Lambert was living down the street until I was probably a teenager! So, at some point, I just connected with the poetry, with my love of the music, and I just never looked back."

And we're oh so glad she never did. A release date for "Heartland" isn't out, but we'll be sure to keep you updated on all things Carter Faith. For now, you can stream her current music, and pre-save Cherry Valley, available to stream October 3rd.
