Is Morgan Wallen’s Sand in My Boots Festival Returning Next Year?

Do you remember the Sand In My Boots Festival, the event curated by Morgan Wallen earlier this year?

It took place in Gulf Shores, Alabama, back in May as a one-year takeover of the Hangout Festival. And the lineup was something else.

The festival featured Wallen and Post Malone, two of the biggest artists today. It also brought in rock acts like 3 Doors Down and The War on Drugs. Indie names such as Future Islands and Wild Nothing were there, too.

In addition to these, there were performances by Brooks and Dunn and several hip-hop acts, including 2 Chainz, Three 6 Mafia, Wiz Khalifa, BigXThaPlug, and T-Pain.

The real highlight was its focus on young country artists like Bailey Zimmerman, Ella Langley, Ole 60, and Riley Green. Attendees had the chance to see a broad range of emerging talent.

Anticipation is building for a follow-up. But based on a message on the merch website, a second Sand In My Boots Festival may not happen in 2026.

The Festival Website Changed

According to Whiskey Riff, the City of Gulf Shores approved a one-year extension for the festival, having been pleased with the behavior of this year's crowd. Following the festival in May, the Sand In My Boots merch site was updated to say "Coming Soon" and "See You In 2026."

Although there was no official confirmation, these updates gave Wallen fans hope for the festival's return.

Recently, the website was updated again, leading fans to wonder when—or if—the Sand In My Boots Festival will return for another year.

It now reads, "Coming Soon! See you next time."

Morgan Wallen Isn't That Great With Festivals

Still, this change in message may not signify much just yet. The main festival site still shows the 2025 lineup. Ultimately, if you missed the merch tent during the event, you no longer can get a T-shirt online.

As we reported last month, another event Wallen is involved in, the Field & Stream Music Fest, was suddenly canceled.

"Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, Field & Stream Music Fest has been canceled," a corresponding statement read. "The refund process will commence immediately and will cover all Field & Stream purchases tied to your order, including tickets, upgrades, camping, parking, add-ons, taxes, and fees."

Wallen and Eric Church are part of an ownership group that purchased the 150-year-old Field & Stream outdoor lifestyle brand from Dick's Sporting Goods and the media platform Recurrent. The duo planned to expand the company with the festival, which was co-produced by Southern Entertainment.

But let's not jump to conclusions. Since the first Sand In My Boots event wasn't announced until October 2024, there may just be a wait ahead.
