Alaina Paid Tribute to Her Dad While She Also Uplifted Others

The post reads like this. "My heart aches today more than it did for his birthday or Father's Day. In a perfect world, we would be celebrating 13 years of his sobriety. Today I choose to honor him still. He was a proud father and pawpaw. He was a proud Army veteran. He was smart. He was kind. He was the funniest person I have ever met. He always had the answer to any question I had. He is so missed."

Alaina also offered this advice. "Love yourself and others. Prioritize your mental health. Surround yourself with people who help you in your healing journey. I so wish my dad had done this. If you know any veterans organization that could benefit from my daddy's belongings, please share below. I know that would make him proud. #mentalhealth #veteran #army"

She Is Keeping Some of His Clothes for a Very Special Purpose

Alaina, 30, who is from Rossville, Georgia, plans to hang on to some of her dad's garments. She wants to fashion them into a blanket for Beni Doll, her adorable little infant girl. Alaina's father sadly did not have the opportunity to meet and get to know his granddaughter.

Per the outlet, "The rest of his clothes will be donated to a veteran organization, with the intention that they might bring comfort to someone and offer the hope her father never found."
