Judge Claims Lawsuit Against ‘American Idol’ Star Accused of Poisoning a Fan Is “Nonsensical”

Kellie Pickler is involved in a lawsuit again, but this time, the judge is calling the case "nonsensical and delusional."

American Idol star Kellie Pickler is involved in a lawsuit again, but the story is a little unusual. Pickler has been dealing with lawsuits since 2023, when her late husband, Kyle Jacobs, died by suicide. Now, she has another legal battle on her hands, this time involving a fan.

Nigel Max Edge, a man from North Carolina, has claimed that Pickler tried to poison him in 2012. He claims the incident happened while he went to the CMT Awards as her date. The federal judge on the case dismissed the story as "nonsensical and delusional," saying it "fails to plausibly allege a violation of law."

Edge was also facing charges connecting him to a mass shooting at a North Carolina Bar. According to reports from CBS, on Saturday, September 27, Edge fired an assault rifle from a boat, killing three people and wounding five. Only half an hour late, Edge was arrested and confessed that he had dealt with post-traumatic stress disorder. He was charged with murder, attempted murder, and assault.

Edge has been known to consult the court in years' past, carrying with him a string of unusual cases. In 2023, he changed his name from Sean DeBevoise, and his reasons were interesting to say the least. He claimed, "I do not trust my family, and I would feel more comfortable starting my life on a new path with a new name." In May, Edge also accused an area church of trying to make him harm himself. He said that the reason was that he was "not an LGBTQ or a p*dophile."

In the lawsuit involving Kellie Pickler, Edge claimed that she tried to poison him using a glass of Jim Beam. He showed a photo for reference, which was just a bottle of Jack Daniel's.

Kellie Pickler Is Still Dealing With a Lawsuit in Regards to Her Late Husband

Unfortunate for Pickler, who lost her husband, Kyle Jacobs, to suicide in 2023, this lawsuit isn't the only one she's had to deal with in recent years. In a current legal battle, Pickler fights for the control and ownership of her late husband's estate. This includes items that were valuable to the late songwriter, such as a Rolex watch, a gun collection, and a Steinway Piano.

Pickler claims her in-laws removed items from the estate without asking, and her in-laws say she removed items that didn't belong to her. Jacobs' parents are the administrators of his estate, as Pickler declined to be an administrator after his death. Recently, Pickler requested that the judge remove Jacobs' parents as administrators, so that she is the sole heir and beneficiary. Her old in-laws opposed this motion.

As the case moves into the active litigation phase, we hope Kellie Pickler gets a little bit of a break. After the year she's had, it seems like she might need it.
