Scotty McCreery Will Do Anything for Fans, but He Won’t Do This

The last time Scotty McCreery did this for a fan at a meet and greet, things got a little awkward for the singer.

It's pretty safe to say that Scotty McCreery has a special relationship with fans.

When he lost both of his grandmothers on the same day, he asked his fans for prayers. When McCreery noticed a man hitting a woman at one of his concerts last year, he stopped the show and got her the help she needed.

He was even awarded the Angels Among Us Award by St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for his "outstanding commitment and service to the mission" of the pediatric medical facility.

The American Idol winner just seems like the kind of guy who would do anything for his fanbase, but even he has made it clear that he has his limits.

Scotty McCreery Remembers a Very Awkward Moment From a Show

In a recent clip posted on social media, McCreery talked about an uncomfortable moment he experienced.

Captioned "It was pretty awkward," the video flashes the words "why I don't allow proposals at meet & greets anymore." We'll let the singer take it from here.

"I did one proposal in a meet and greet," recalled McCreery. "It was years ago. Me and Mike [Childers, who is McCreery's tour manager] were sitting there in front of everybody in a meet-and-greet. He gets down on one knee, she just says no."

"Y'all enjoy the show tonight," he told them.

McCreery's Marriage Story Went Much Smoother

McCreery met his wife, Gabi, in kindergarten, but they didn't start dating until they started high school in North Carolina. They stayed together through college, and Gabi has even appeared in some of the artist's music videos.

McCreery proposed to Gabi in September 2017 while hiking on Grandfather Mountain.

"I've been planning this moment for so long that it feels surreal for it to have finally happened," the country music singer said at the time. "Gabi is the perfect girl and my true love, and I cannot wait to begin building our life together as husband and wife."

They wed the next year, and the couple recently welcomed their second child, Oliver Cooke. They shared the news on social media last month, accompanied by a carousel of adorable images of the little bundle of joy with his mom, dad, and little brother, Merrick Avery.
