Ella Langley Introduces New Single "This Version Of Us" In Season 2 of Netflix's 'Nobody Wants This'

Ella Langley has made her return to entertainment with "Choosin' Texas" and a new single for the show Nobody Wants This. Read more here.

Last September, the Netflix show "Nobody Wants This" made waves for the "funny, charming, and unexpected" way it explored interfaith relationships. This October, a new season of the show dives into Joanne's (played by Kristin Bell) possible conversion to Judaism, as she continues to learn about herself in her relationship with a Rabbi (played by Adam Brody).

While last season's soundtrack featured notable singles from several artists like FINNEAS, Role Model, and Selena Gomez, this season boasts a new lineup of tracks, including a song written specifically for the show by Ella Langley.

Written with songwriters Jordan Schmidt, Jon Nite, and Zach Kale, Langley's new song, "This Version Of Us" dives into that inevitable feeling of getting back together with somebody, even after trying time and time again to end things. The song appears next to other singles from Chris Stapleton, Kacey Musgraves, and Teddy Swims.

Ella Langley and Miranda Lambert on Writing "Choosin' Texas"

"This Version of Us" is a pop piano ballad that greatly contrasts with Langley's other recent single, "Choosin' Texas". Written with her idol and close friend, Miranda Lambert, this song leans more towards classic country heartbreak. In an interview with Country Living, Langley talked about the moment she knew what the song was going to be about.

Apparently, in the writer's room, Miranda Lambert was just telling a wild drinking story to Langley, who threw out the line, "She's from Texas I can tell." This ends up being the opening line for Langley's chorus.

She shared, "As soon as I said that, we all just looked at each other like — yep, that's it! That's the next song. She's from Texas, the girl he went with. And I thought well... you know I love a song like that."

Miranda Lambert, who presented Ella with the New Artist of the Year ACM award last year, even commented on Langley's work on the song. "Ella may have grown up in Alabama, but she has a rowdy, fiery side that us Texas women recognize and respect. She's an artist through and through, and it was important to me to let her artistry shine through at every stage of the process, from co-writing to co-producing. I'm so proud of how 'Choosin' Texas' does that, and can't wait to see the world continue to get to know Ella through this song."

Fans of Langley can listen to "Choosin' Texas" and "This Version Of Us" on streaming services everywhere now.
