Shania Twain delivered what might be the sassiest zinger in music history.

The lyric, which came at the expense of actor Brad Pitt, appears on her 1997 hit "That Don't Impress Me Much". As you may recall, Twain famously lists all the things about men that don't excite her.
In the song's second verse, she sings about a man with "a comb up his sleeve" and a lot of "extra hold gel" in his hair. That's when she drops the 61-year-old actor's name.
"Okay, so you're Brad Pitt," she sings. "That don't impress me much."
Now, nearly 30 years later, fans want to know: Are Twain and Pitt cool these days?
What Inspired Shania Twain To Mention Brad Pitt, Anyway?
During an interview on the Wood and Woody radio show on Sunday, Oct. 26, Twain talked about what inspired her to include the Legends of the Fall actor in the song.
The 60-year-old singer insists it wasn't personal. At the time, Pitt was in the news because the magazine Playgirl had obtained revealing pictures of him.
"I was thinking, 'OK, everybody in the world is in love with Brad Pitt right now,'" she said. "There were nude photos of him, and everyone was gaga over that. And I'm thinking, 'OK, if there is anyone that is making an impression on anyone ...' That's why I picked on him."
So Was Pitt Upset With Twain Over the Lyric?
The truth is that Twain doesn't know.
"We've never met," the singer said. "And I mean, you know, there's a lot of Hollywood celebrities I haven't met. He must be impressed with that, though, you know?"
Pitt has never reached out to Twain personally about his inclusion in the song. She is, however, willing to talk about it with him sometime.
"Like, he can seek me out, right?" she noted. "He certainly doesn't have to try very hard. I'm sure he's got a very good sense of humor."
It certainly hasn't stopped Twain from performing the song in the decades since it came out. Earlier this month, she performed the song with Sabrina Carpenter at the Austin City Limits Music Festival.
