After years of struggling to get pregnant, singer Liz McClarnon of Atomic Kitten is finally a mother. On November 2, McClarnon announced that she and her husband, Peter Cho, had welcomed their first child, a baby boy. Cho and McClarnon have been married since 2023 and have been trying to have children since their relationship started. Just last week, McClarnon summed up her pregnancy journey in a short caption. "I got a message the other day saying 'I feel like you've been pregnant for forever!' ? So do I! So. Do. I. ?."

McClarnon, who's now 44, has attempted everything under the sun when it comes to pregnancy - including fertility treatments and embryo transfers. In 2009, she expressed her desire to have a child after she was diagnosed with a condition where her fallopian tubes were stuck together. McClarnon was worried that she might have had an ectopic pregnancy, which is where a fertilized egg starts to grow outside of a woman's uterus. Ectopic pregnancies are dangerous and can cause internal bleeding if not adequately treated.
Through 2022 and 2024, McClarnon also suffered from three failed embryo transfers and two miscarriages. Even with failed attempt after failed attempt, she never gave up. On May 13, she announced her first successful pregnancy in an emotional video.
"I just can't believe we're here. ?? So many have been through exactly what I went through and worse," she continued. "I want to share what I can and add my voice and ears to those who already help others understand or deal with all that comes with ivf and loss after so much hope."
Just yesterday, McClarnon and Cho welcomed their baby boy into the world.
McClarnon's Pregnancy Struggles Have Given Her a New Perspective
McClarnon's husband, Peter Cho, whom she met through Hinge in 2021, has been incredibly supportive throughout the whole process. Early in their relationship, the couple began working towards having a child, as Liz, at 40, knew her chances of becoming a mother were decreasing.
"The first time we did it, I thought, 'This will be it,'" she shared in an interview. "But by my third cycle, it was obviously very different. When that one didn't work, I was really quite sick, and I was in a dark hole.
McClarnon told People that, despite many moments when she was ready to give up, she ultimately ended her journey with a newfound perspective. "The whole process made me truly appreciate that having a baby is a miracle. There are so, so many things that need to happen correctly for someone to get pregnant, and for that to result in a healthy baby."
Liz's story is proof of her perseverance, and we have no doubt she'll make a great mother.
