Given his history of sharing his political beliefs, John Rich was the perfect guest for Megyn Kelly Live.

The singer-songwriter, who is one-half of the duo Big & Rich, appeared at her Duluth, Georgia, stop of her tour on Nov. 8 to perform a set at Gas South Arena.
But as Rich explained earlier this week, it almost didn't happen.
What Happened to John Rich Before His Appearance With Megyn Kelly?
Rich wanted to "talk a little bit, sing a little bit" with Kelly, but during sound check, any musician's worst nightmare came true.
"I go trotting up the steps up to the stage where the show is going to be, and... the toe of my boot, the very end of it, catches on the last step," he said. "It was like slow motion. Boom, I hit the stage, the guitar falls out of my hand, and it snapped the head off at the top."
If that wasn't heartbreaking enough, Rich had owned the guitar for over two decades.
"It's been all over the planet with me," he said. "It says 'Music Mafia.' It's got rhinestones all the way around it... There's 1,500 to 2,000 concerts on that guitar."
What Did Rich Do?
Kelly didn't have her guitar with her, so Rich and his team worked to get another six-string in his hands as soon as possible.
"We got on the phone and wound up with this little number here. I've never played it in a show before," he shared. "It is a lot smaller than what I normally play, but I don't really care. We're going to be just fine... I'm going to give them hell when I get out there."
Rich warmed up on the replacement and performed two songs for the audience.
Rich Recently Took A Shot At Another Star
Speaking of politics, Rich, who collaborated with Taylor Swift back in 2008 on the song "The Way I Loved You," recently made a crack at the expense of the singer on social media.
When responding to a tweet asking to share the name of someone who is better than Swift, he said, "I'll start: @therealroseanne."
This may have referred to the time comedian Roseanne Barr performed "The Star-Spangled Banner" off-key before a baseball game between the San Diego Padres and the Cincinnati Reds in 1990.
Rich has been a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump, while Swift endorsed Kamala Harris during the last election.
