Dancing With The Stars is a modern twist on a reality game show. However, that doesn't mean it won't provide us with some mouth-watering drama from time to time. The most recent reminder of this is the budding feud between Bobby Bones and Tom Bergeron.

This all started when Bergeron took a seemingly harmless question regarding shock eliminations and instantly flipped the discussion to throw some shade at Bones.
"What shocked me most was a win...Bobby Bones was the first time ... it was like, 'Ouch.'" Bergeron said during an interview with Parade.
Bones clearly took issue with Bergeron's comments. After all, they came straight out of left field, were unprompted, and arguably a little too truthful. So, Bones stitched some of that interview into a video for his TikTok channel, where he shared his frustrations.
"I didn't even want to be on the show," Bones said. "Am I supposed to not show up and work hard? It's crazy the amount of hate I get. I feel like a sixth grader and all the ninth-grade dancing kids are shoving me in lockers."
This is where things get juicy. Rather than just blocking out the noise and moving forward, Bones revealed that he sent his mirror ball trophy back to ABC.
"So, I sent the trophy back," Bones declared. "They don't want me to be a part of the show, obviously, so I don't want to be somewhere that doesn't want me to be there."
Sometimes, the petty decision is the most rewarding, and we all know it.
Tom Bergeron Has Since Apologized to Bobby Bones
Shortly after Bones posted his video to TikTok, Bergeron publicly apologized to the former Dancing With the Stars winner via an Instagram post.
"It wasn't my intention to hurt your feelings," Bergeron wrote. "My 'ouch' was based on my honest feeling that your win spoke to a need to address the balance between judge and viewer voting. I always felt bad that you and Sharna had to deal with the aftermath of that win and I certainly regret pouring any salt into that old wound."
With a heartfelt apology in hand, Bones will likely leave the drama behind him and continue moving on with his life. However, the flutter of controversy is a reminder of how many were shocked when he won season 27, and how many people are truly invested in the show.
After all, that's what makes for great TV.
