Unfortunately, Elizabeth Castravet, who was a star on the series, has announced that her father, Chuck, has sadly passed away aged 64.
"Two weeks ago, tragedy struck our family and it has left us completely shattered," Castravet wrote on Instagram. "My sweet, loving, and caring dad went to heaven. We're trying to figure out how to navigate our lives and move forward without him. Please respect our privacy during this extremely difficult time."
Throughout his appearances on the show, Chuck was open about his health struggles. He recently underwent an eight-hour surgery to repair a hernia and a collapsed stomach. By all accounts, the surgery was a success, and Chuck was recovering well.
The family has not yet provided a cause of death for Chuck, and may choose to keep that out of the public eye.
Elizabeth Castravet Has Been Part of '90 Day Fiance' Since 2017
Elizabeth first joined 90 Day Fiancé in 2017. Initially, she was navigating the ups and downs that come with a long-distance relationship. Her now husband, Andrei Castravet, was initially based in Moldova. Throughout the show, you followed Elizabeth's relationship through multiple challenges, including trying to get Andrei a K-1 visa to move to the United States.
Chuck often made an appearance on the show and was also present in both Elizabeth's and her sister Rebekah's social media presence.
Elizabeth has since returned for the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off, known as 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, where she was present between seasons four and seven, and then returned again in season nine.
Both Elizabeth and Adrei are still active on the show. As such, there's a chance that Chuck's passing could be addressed in a future episode. However, if the family chooses to keep the details of his death to themselves, their right to privacy should certainly be respected.
Still, the TLC family has lost a beloved member, even if he wasn't directly related to the show itself.
