Noah Kahan Says He Doesn’t Mind Being Called a “Snooze Fest”

Noah Kahan is embracing all sorts of labels as he steps into 2026, including the one that critics have been giving him about his live shows.

After being called a "snooze fest" by critics, Noah Kahan is choosing to embrace the label as he enters 2026. The folk sensation is focused on his new album, and he's not about to stop for anyone.

Even though critics have been calling him a "snooze fest," the singer has been keeping his sets fresh. By that I mean, teasing new music to no end. On his 2024 Tour, as well as various festivals, Kahan played several new songs for his upcoming project. Some of these new tracks include "The Great Divide", "Deny, Deny, Deny", and "Wreckage of You", to name a few. Many speculate that the project will be called The Great Divide.

On November 20, Kahan posted an Instagram story to combat any and all hate. He shared, "When people call my music a snooze fest, I take it as a compliment because to me, going to an actual snoozing festival sounds fun and restful." The singer shared a relaxed photo of him lying in bed, appropriately. "Everyone there just sleeping side by side, refreshed and ready to go after my two hours are up."

Per usual, the Stick Season singer didn't hesitate to respond with grace and, most noticeably, humor. Of course, this isn't the first time that Kahan has struggled with criticism, especially he tends to genre-bend.

Noah Kahan Knows He's Not a Country Singer

In June 2025, Kahan also responded to a hate comment from a Bruce Springsteen fan page, again on Instagram. It said, "Noah Kahan, Love your music but you are not country singer." This comment was addressing the fact that, over the summer, Kahan ended up playing the RedWest 2025 Festival. This festival is a country music festival, which is, apparently, not his genre.

The "Northern Attitude" singer wasted no time with his response. Under the comment, he quipped back sarcastically. "Can't believe this is how I found out." He responded to similar comments with a "I need some time to process this news."

One thing about Noah Kahan, he never has any shortage of smart replies in his back pocket.
