"Can confirm @VandyFootball QB Diego Pavia's brother, Javier Pavia, was arrested by a Tennessee Highway Patrol officer, charged with public intoxication at the game tonight," Whetstone wrote. "He had a flag blocking people's views. Refused to take it down. Got mouthy with an officer. Etc."

Diego Pavia Wants To Be a Heisman Finalist

Despite his family's antics in the stands, Diego has pieced together an amazing season. When speaking to reporters on Saturday, he detailed why he believes he should be a finalist for this season's Heisman trophy.

"Take me to New York, you know? I feel like you go look at the numbers, you look at... what we got here and obviously we did something that's never been done,"

According to The Athletic, Pavis is currently third in Heisman voting, with a total of 26 points. Jeremiyah Love of Notre Dame (2nd) and Fernando Mendoza (1st) of Indiana are both ahead of him.

Performances like his one against Tennessee will certainly help Pavia close the gap in his chase for the Heisman trophy. However, he may already be too far behind to emerge as the eventual winner. Either way, his production this year should ensure he's on track to eventually make the leap to the NFL.
