'Home Improvement' was one of the biggest sitcoms on TV back in the 90s. With Tim Allen anchoring the cast as "Tim the Toolman Taylor," the show ran for eight seasons between 1991 and 1998. However, in the years that have followed, Zachery Ty Bryan, who played Brad on the show, has been in and out of trouble with the law.

According to TMZ, Bryan was taken into custody on Saturday. He reportedly violated his probation following a previous domestic violence conviction. TMZ noted Bryan has been denied bail and will be in jail until Wednesday, December 3.
Bryan still has one year remaining on his three-year probation.
The domestic violence charge isn't the only thing on Bryan's rap sheet. He's also been arrested for a DUII in Oklahoma, a DUII in South Carolina and a menacing charge from 2020 in Oregon. The 2020 charge involved his girlfriend, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, and was down to a drunken dispute.
A TMZ report from Nov. 12 also reveals that a previous girlfriend has sought, and obtained, a five-year restraining order against Bryan. He reportedly threatened her and physically assaulted her in the past.
Zachery Ty Bryan's Girlfriend Was Also Arrested
Cartwright was also arrested on Saturday. She's in the same jail as Bryan. Cartwright is reportedly facing five charges, including three counts of reckless endangering, attempted first-degree assault and a DUII.
It's certainly been a tough few days for the couple, who continue to struggle with staying on the right side of the law. TMZ noted that Cartwright is expected to be arraigned on Monday, Dec. 1
Zachery Ty Bryan's Role in Home Improvements Limited His Career Prospects
During a 2023 interview with People, Bryan admitted that his role on 'Home Improvement' had a negative impact on his ability to segue into the movie industry after the show wrapped up in the late 90s.
"You were stigmatized as a TV star, and no matter how good your audition, you were never going to be taken seriously. But I kept at it," Bryan said. "On the same token, you might get turned down on a bunch of projects, but you could go out at night and hang out with your buddies at Mel's Diner and everybody knows you."
Bryan is 44 years old. He's undoubtedly a talented actor. Hopefully, he can continue to try to get himself back on track and make the most of his talents. After all, the movie and TV divide is no longer such a significant obstacle these days.
