Ric Flair Says He Got “Bad Information” About Hulk Hogan’s Death, Looks to Squash Beef With Hogan’s Wife

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair responded to Sky Hogan on X, as he looks to squash the war of words following his recent "street drugs" comment

Ric Flair has responded to Hulk Hogan's widow, Sky Hogan. The wrestling legend's wife recently hit back at Flair's claim that "street drugs" are what led to her husband's death. Taking to social media, Flair, a legend in his own right, sought to end the war of words, insisting that their efforts should be on preserving Hogan's legacy.

"Okay, Sky! I Got Bad Information, According To You," Flair wrote on X. "I Should Have Never Mentioned It. I Have Known Hogan Since 1979. Let's Just Move Past This And Concentrate On His Legacy. Period, End Of Story. Let's PRESERVE HIS LEGACY Rather Than Dwell On Any Negative Energy. I Repeat- Hulkamania Forever!"

Flair's original comments came during a recent appearance on the "DOUBL3 COVERAGE" podcast.

"I shouldn't say this, but what killed him was street drugs," Flair said. "The doctor wouldn't prescribe anymore — he was in so much pain. Then he had a neck surgery and got infected. So back in the hospital. Imagine 10 back surgeries, two knees, two hips, all this. And then when the doctor would not prescribe anymore pain medicine, they just couldn't do it in all due conscience," he added. "So they went and got street drugs."

What Did Sky Hogan Say About Ric Flair's Comments?

During a recent conversation with TMZ, Sky claimed that Flair had received bad information regarding the passing of his close friend. And, despite his comments going viral, Sky was keen to stress that there's no bad blood between the Hogan family and the 76-year-old wrestling legend.

"That didn't happen at all," Sky told TMZ.

Sky is in a far better position to detail the events leading up to her husband's death. She also noted how the two legends were not in contact in the days before Hogan's death, despite what Flair said during his podcast appearance.

Wrestling fans will now hope the very public disagreement between Flair and Hogan's family is done and dusted. During their prime, they were the two biggest driving forces for the growth of professional wrestling on a global scale. They've been friends for decades.

It doesn't benefit anyone if a disagreement like this continues to play out, either behind closed doors or in a public forum.
