Jelly Roll is a brand new dude lately. He lost lots of weight (some 200 pounds) and shaved off the most famous beard since Abe Lincoln's. The popular "Need a Favor" singer even replaced his bad habits with healthy ones, including on his birthday. Per People, he posted a video of himself on Instagram on a run with his chum, Cameron Hanes. Jelly Roll made the a.m. jog on December 4, which was his 41st birthday.

The caption is "Go get some today y'all. Everything is possible through God."
Being determined to do something healthy is a big switch for the country star. He admits that he formerly indulged in substances like drugs and alcohol to celebrate his personal new year. No more, however. Jelly Roll has a wholly revamped outlook on life - and he's absolutely loving every minute of it.
Jelly Roll Now Favors a Much Better Lifestyle
He declares in the video, "It's my 41st birthday, y'all. And I'm not saying that because I want birthday presents." The country music artist is trying to get a key point across. Namely, that you, too, can change your life if you really want to.
Jelly Roll persuasively added, "Now on my birthday, one of my best friends wakes me up and says, let's go for a [expletive] run, baby. Me and Cam Hanes getting these miles in this morning. That's what God can do for you in a couple of years, baby. That's what God can do. If you didn't enjoy your birthday this year, you can change it by next birthday, baby. I promise you can."
His Pal Also Posted a Video of Their Run
Hanes put a video on his Instagram. Jelly Roll proudly announced in it, "I used to do drugs on my birthday, y'all. I changed my friend group. Now I run." Hanes appreciates the positive reinforcement. "He's made me better, too. That's what it's all about. Get friends that lift you up, baby."
Addiction Dogged Him Years Ago
Jelly Roll has been open about his previous substances abuse challenges. However, he's on a very different path now. Two years ago, he told the outlet, "I've made a lot of peace with my past. I mean, it still haunts me like the ghosts I know, but I tell you what, I don't think about doing no drugs today."
