In a recent post on her Instagram account, which surely got pulses racing, Sweeny uploaded a photo of her covering her bare chest with her hands while having a nude corset fastened. The image was taken in New York, which coincided with the premiere of "The Housemaid."

Later that night, Sweeney donned a sequined dress when walking the red carpet. However, it was her exploits on social media earlier that day that had generated the most attention. After all, Sweeney has over 25 million followers on Instagram alone. It's likely that millions of those followers tuned into her red carpet appearance to see how her outfit looked following their behind-the-scenes sneak peek.

Sydney Sweeney Breaks Silence on American Eagle Ad

Sweeney's raunchy upload to social media isn't the only reason she's making headlines at the moment. On Friday, Nov. 5, she finally broke her silence over the American Eagle advert that created a stir earlier this year.

"I was honestly surprised by the reaction," Sweeney said when talking to People for an exclusive interview. "I did it because I love the jeans and love the brand; I don't support the views some people chose to connect to the campaign. Many have assigned motives and labels to me that just aren't true."

Sweeney didn't stop there, as she expressed her disdain for the hate and divisiveness that are currently so prevalent in modern-day society.

"Anyone who knows me knows that I'm always trying to bring people together. I'm against hate and divisiveness," she said. "In the past my stance has been to never respond to negative or positive press but recently I have come to realize that my silence regarding this issue has only widened the divide, not closed it. So I hope this new year brings more focus on what connects us instead of what divides us."

Sweeney is currently on somewhat of a press run ahead of "The Housemaid's" release date. The movie is set to hit cinemas on Dec. 22, and is projected to be a winter hit at the box office.
