Upon his arrest, Heinz was charged with criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault with a firearm, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
"He denies the allegations as reported and will contest them through the legal process, where the facts—not speculation or headlines—will determine the outcome," a lawyer for Heinz said. "We ask that the public and the media respect the presumption of innocence and allow this matter to proceed in court."
According to NJ.com, Heinz told the woman, "I'm going to kill you," during the incident.
Heinz was originally tracked down by the police using a description his alleged victim, Maritza Arias-Galva, provided. He was arrested at his local home, where he was taken into custody.
What Role Did Ernest Heinz Have in 'The Sopranos'?
Heinz appeared in one episode of The Sopranos, where he played an uncredited thief, according to IMDb. The appearance came during 2006, when the show was at the height of its popularity. Heinz has 12 credits, including the role of "Brad Price" in the movie Ricky.
However, Heinz's last credit came in 2014, when he played "Jerry Wexler" in the movie The Soul of Blue Eyes. He hasn't been featured in anything since then. Outside of TV and movies, Heinz has also held roles as a voice actor.
The 47-year-old has appeared in Biohazard: The Darkside Chronicles and Resident Evil 5 both times as an additional crew member.
Heinz, a native of New Jersey, will now await his court date. There, he will learn the outcome of the current charges against him. Currently, there's no public information regarding the potential sentence he could face.
Given the long list of charges, it's unlikely that we will see Heinz back on our TV screens any time soon.
