Piers Morgan has received a new hip following a fall while eating out in London, he posted the update to his own social media channels.

The fall occurred while Morgan was eating out. The injury led him to joke that the new year is already "off to a cracking start." In England, the word "cracking" is often used as a synonym for "great or fantastic." However, in this instance, it works as a double entendre here, because, well, he cracked his hip on the fall.
Morgan admitted that the impact of his fall left his femur so badly fractured that surgeons had no other choice but to replace his hip. He's been given a recovery timeline of six weeks on crutches, and at least 12 weeks before he can get back to his usual jet-setting ways.
In typical Morgan fashion, he jokingly noted that he's blaming President Donald Trump for the fall.
A hip replacement used to come with a long and arduous recovery. With modern medical advances, Morgan's recovery will be somewhat painless. Those advances should also ensure he's back on our screens in the very near future.
