This is possibly a first for the Winter Olympics, or any other sport for that matter.

After winning a medal in the 20km biathlon at the Milan-Cortina Winter Games on Feb. 10, Norwegian athlete Sturla Holm Laegreid made a confession on live television that no one saw coming. We have the details below.
Laegreid Said He Made the "Biggest Mistake" of His Life
Laegreid finished behind fellow Norwegian Johan-Olav Botn and France's Eric Perrot during the 20 km biathlon.
When approached by the television station NRK after the event, the 28-year-old tearfully got something off his chest.
"There is someone I wanted to share this with who might not be watching today," he said, per a translation provided by E! News.
He shared that he "met the love of [his] life" several months before the Winter Olympic Games. He described the unnamed woman as "the most beautiful and kindest person in the world."
"Three months ago, I made the biggest mistake of my life and was unfaithful," he admitted. He told her about the affair "about a week ago." Despite his performance, he said that he was having "the worst week" of his life.
The Athlete Said He Had the "Gold Medal" Before the Winter Olympics Even Began
Laegreid continued, using the Olympics as an analogy for his very personal situation.
"I had the gold medal in life, and I am sure there are many people who will see things differently, but I only have eyes for her," he said. "Sport has come second these last few days. Yes, I wish I could share this with her."
The biathlete said he spoke up about the affair because of the pressure he felt after winning the Bronze medal.
"I try to be a good role model, and I did something stupid," he said. "You have to admit when you do something you can't stand for and hurt someone you love so much."
Here's hoping the woman Laegried wronged saw his confession at the Winter Olympics and can forgive him for his mistake. This is the second overall medal for the Norwegian. He will compete again on Feb. 20 in the 15km mass start biathlon.
