Chet Hanks, the son of Hollywood A-lister Tom Hanks, is currently stranded in Colombia. The Running Point actor originally headed to Puerto Rico last week to attend a friend's birthday party. However, he then decided to travel to Medellin, where his friend Taylor resides.

Chet detailed his recent ordeal in a video he shared on Instagram.
"So y'all ready for a story time?" the video begins. "So, I go to Puerto Rico last week for my homie Max's birthday. Have a good time. Then I'm in Puerto Rico, and we're all about to leave. I go, 'Hmm I'm only two, three hours away from Medellin. Why don't I go pull up on my homie Taylor who lives in Medellin? F--k it.' Yeah, sounds good, right? Check this out. I'm traveling with my Greek passport because I'm a dual citizen. The reason I didn't use my American passport is because it's about to expire. And sometimes they don't let you in the country, even if it hasn't expired, but it's about to expire."
As the video continues, Chet explains that because he's traveling on an international passport, he now needs a green card to return to the United States. Of course, that's a problem for him because he's already a citizen.
"So I take my Greek passport. I'm supposed to leave today. I go to the airport to check in my flight. Three hours early," Chet continued. This is an international flight. They tell me that if I'm using a foreign passport, I need a green card to get back into America. I don't have a green card. Because I'm an American citizen. UGH! I don't have my American passport with me. So I'm literally stuck in Colombia. I'm stuck in Medellin."
Chet Hanks Must Visit the US Embassy in Bogota
There is an option for Chet to get his situation figured out. In the same video, he explains that he has to travel to Bogota, which is where the US Embassy in Colombia is situated.
"And the only embassy to get this s--t settled is in Bogota. I don't want to go to Bogota. So, uh... Yeah. Free me. You know what I'm saying? Free me."
Bogota is known for its high rate of violent crime, such as armed robbery and murder. It makes sense why Chet is trying to avoid a trip to Colombia's capital city. Unfortunately, if he doesn't have his US passport with him, he may not have any better options.
Chet will undoubtedly keep us informed as he tries to figure this situation out.
